Can I bring my dog ?
No. Dogs are not permitted in the château or the park, regardless of their size and not even if carried in a bag.
Where can I park my motorhome? Is there a motorhome stopover area near the château ?
There is no specific area for motorhomes near the château, but there are 4 free car parks not far from the Château de Compiègne. The first is in front of the château and the other 3 are alongside the park, a 5-minute walk away.
Please note: these car parks are very busy.
Do you have wheelchairs or child’s pushchairs ? Can they be reserved ?
Yes, we have a wheelchair (1) and pushchairs (3) that you can borrow on the day of your visit depending on their availability. It is not possible to book them in advance.
Can I picnic in the park ?
Yes, it is entirely possible to picnic in the park in the designated areas. There are no tables or chairs.
A map of the park is available at the entrance showing the two picnic areas.
We remind you that it is forbidden to leave any rubbish on site. Litter bins are provided.
Can I pay for my visit with ANCV Holiday Vouchers ?
Yes, you can use your vouchers to pay for your visit and also for any other activity, such as guided tours or workshops. However, no change is given.
Additionally, you may not buy items from the château shop with Holiday Vouchers.
Can I take photographs with flash ?
No. Flash photography is not permitted for conservation reasons and for the comfort of other visitors.
Some spaces can be quite dark in order to maintain optimum conservation conditions for the works; heat and light can cause them to deteriorate.
